PASSION ~ What is it?
What is Passion?
Passion is very different for everyone. Passion for many people is love. Love can be created by having your own children. It can be found by finding your partner, friend or pet animal. Your love may be for your art which could be painting, creative writing, photography, music, cooking; exercise in all forms, including yoga and meditation; cake decorating; dancing; fishing; surfing; swimming; reading. The list is endless of course!
It’s wonderful to find a love of “something” because that can bring great passion. Passion is such a motivator. Passion gets you out of bed each day. Passion can sometimes drive you to extremes, good or bad!
I have turned 63 this year and where am I at? I’m at the tail end of the baby boomers. I have done many things in my life to date. I have sold many products belonging to others and never found great passion in doing so!
In 2010 I had the best holiday I have ever had. I spent a week at beautiful Moreton Island off Brisbane, Australia with my partner. We camped. We didn’t have electricity and took our own water. We took a box of red wine, nuts, fruit and veggies. We walked the beaches every day and collected all the jetsam of humankind. Without putting fisher people off side, we kept finding fishing line and plastic bags which had contained bait! Ropes and nets. We also found nature’s flotsam. Every day I kept finding a broken shell of the same species. On the last day of our holiday, I found the whole shell. I was over the moon with excitement! One of my passions is the beauty of shells. Finding the broken shells though got me thinking about where I am now in life. I am approaching the latter stage of my life. Every day is precious. I don’t take anything for granted. Even though I am in a “job” still, I have created a whole business of my own, initially based around shells and thus the name, Inspired Shell Designs but which has expanded over time and which I am passionate about. When I leave my “job” I want to be able to work my business with passion until I take my last breath on this magnificent earth we walk on.
Until next time,
